Dunes de Dovela is an eco lodge set deep in the coastal forests of southern Mozambique.

The lodge has been designed with the preservation of nature at the forefront. Offering tented accommodation set in the surrounding untouched dune forest. Emphasis lies on the wilderness, the outdoor space. Elegant bungalows overlooking the rugged Indian Ocean. Meals that fuse together fine French dining and fresh Mozambican sea food.

THE BRIEF

To develop an identity that encapsulates the raw and rugged setting.

The vision was to keep things simple and rustic. Centered on the ethos of the lodge and the surrounding natural beauty. With the lodge set deep in the forest, It was important to represent the biodiversity accurately. Narrowing down specific flora to be incorporated in the project.

THE PROCESS

A logo, brand identity and lodge photography were all part of the process.

Starting from scratch without any previous content, delving deep was critical to gain intimate knowledge of this unique place. A process of collecting and experimenting with a wide range of visuals was also necessary to capture the atmosphere.

THE OUTCOME

The result was an organic, earthy design, finished with finesse.

Along with the logo, several supporting variants were also produced as part of the process. Typography and colours were established. The content is to be used in a wide range of functions serving the needs of the lodge.
